Timothy M. Harte, PhD, began studying haunt phenomena in 1977. It was the
book by Frank DeFelitta, "The Entity," that began a long, winding trek to Arcadia
Valley, MO. After studying art, music, educational and clinical psychology,
playing drums professionally for 30 years, the time was right to co-design MESA.
This started in 1981, and came to fruition in 1994, as a computer system to sample
and collect data of energies associated with haunt phenomena. At the University of
Illinois at Springfield, the system known as MESA (multifrequency energy sensor
array) was implemented. This system would not be possible without the mind
and expertise of Dave Black, a software engineer. Since then it has evolved and is
still being used to document haunt activity. Currently it measures infrared, visible,
and ultraviolet light; 60 Hz electromagnetic and geomagnetic fields; vibration,
galvanic skin response, ultrasound, radio frequencies, and static electric fields. It
has been used at over 175 haunted sites in the Midwest. We hope to continue
sampling places that have haunt activity, but also places that do not for control
data. We wan to thank Belinda Ache for allowing us to speak and investigate in
Arcadia Valley.

Team Co-Director
P aranormal Investigator
EVP Specialist
Memphis Mid-South Ghost Hunters Webmaster
S. P. became interested in paranormal investigation after participating in a haunted tour of St. Augustine, Florida several years ago. Formerly
a skeptic, he personally "turned the corner" after he heard a little girl speak out loud during an investigation when only adults were present.
He currently focuses his research efforts on Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) as providing the best scientific evidence of paranormal
haunting phenomena.

Michael Chappell
When he’s not playing slow-pitch softball or working his job as a chemical operator, you will find Michael in a
haunted location trying to find the spirits that inhabit it. Michael was personally trained by Todd Bates of the
Haunted Voices Radio Network in the art of E.V.P. analysis. Ever since he captured his first E.V.P. in early
2002, Michael has been hooked and is constantly searching for the voices of the dead. He has even gone so far
as to investigate his own work place. He constantly tries to learn new techniques and never stops learning. Not
only is Michael an accomplished E.V.P. Specialist, that works with the HVRN Investigation Team, but he is
also an accomplished videographer. He is most well known for a video that he shot of Tony Pickman being
attacked in the Sallie House in February of 2005. His video was taken as a part of the HV Investigation Team
and was viewable until it had to be taken off the HV site due to its graphic nature. Michael also has captured
some great E.V.P.s at many locations that he is happy to share with people at any time.
Michael first met Todd and began working with him in 2004. Todd and Michaels love for E.V.P. made them
fast friends and excellent co-workers. He has been a member of the Haunted Voices Investigation Team since
2004. He has worked at many locations in and around Illinois and Indiana. The most famous place that Michael
has investigated is the Sallie House in Atchison, KS. He has had many great experiences with all the places he
has investigated, and is held in high regard with every member of the investigation team. He is a frequent co-
host with Todd on his radio show, and most recently, he took over as the MySpace Manager for the HVRN
Corporation.

Here is a taste of whats in store for all those lucky enough to be in the house that night:
SARA: " Driving by the old Peterson place, like I've done hundreds of times before seemed different this
time, I just pick up my girl Carol and was heading to get Dan & Susan to head to school, when I noticed it
or her in the window of that old rickety house. A faint, yet distance girl standing looking out to the street.
"Baby look", as I pointed to the window for Carol to see. "What" came the reply as I keep my eyes on
the window, but what I seen was a teenage girl step back into the shadows where Carol saw nothing but
the old house."
